The exhibit showcases 10 paintings and more than 230 photographs. December 31 hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and admission is free.

Don't miss the last chance to enjoy one of the holiday season's more spectacular light displays at Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights. The sights and sounds of "Rhythms of Nature," this year's theme, envelop you as you walk through the grounds. Other features include model trains, a warming fire with hot chocolate and s'mores, and student-decorated trees in the Lora Robins Library. GardenFest is open from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. on December 31. Advance tickets must be purchased for a specific time slot. Admission is $5-$20.

Central Virginia has a rich artistic tradition that has given rise to works in watercolor, photography, sculpture, and other creative media. The format involves completing 100-yard swims on an interval that includes a brief rest period, so you can set your own goal. Tiered entrance fees increase as the date of the event approaches, so sign up early. Check-in begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, December 31, and it's everyone in the pool from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
