Richmond Pets

Your pets may be beloved members of your family, but it isn't always easy to take them out for a fun day on the town. Not every business or location allows pets, forcing you to plan your trip carefully in advance. Our real estate agents are pet lovers too, and they've gotten to know the local pet-friendly places very well over the many years they've spent serving the Richmond community. Here are a few of their top pet-friendly spots to check out.

  • Made in Asia - 7302 Hancock Village Drive, Chesterfield, VA 23832
Made in Asia is a Thai and Pan Asian restaurant near our Chesterfield homes for sale with a beautiful and pet-friendly outdoor patio.

The restaurant also carries a wide selection of craft and commercial beer, wine, liquor, and sake and even hosts a happy hour event every Thursday from 4 PM to 6 PM. You can get your drinks at a steep discount during this time, so be sure to check it out!

  • Rockwood Park - 3401 Courthouse Road, Richmond, VA 23236
From baseball fields and tennis courts to a concession stand, an arboretum, and even an archery course, Rockwood Park has everything you could possibly want from an outdoor recreational area.

Pets are welcome anywhere in the park when on a leash, but you can also take dogs to the on-site Ruff House Dog Park for some off-leash playtime. Your dog will love getting a chance to stretch their legs, and you may even get to watch him make some new friends during your visit.

  • Virginia Capital Trail - 200 South Third Street, Richmond, VA 23219
If you're in the mood for a long hike with your pet, the Virginia Capital Trail is a great place to get your exercise in. The trail spans more than 50 miles in total and takes you across four counties in the RVA area.

Aside from the beautiful scenery, there are also dozens of attractions scattered along the path, many of which are outdoor locations where pets are welcome.

  • Bottoms Up Pizza – 1700 Dock Street, Richmond, VA 23223
Bottoms Up Pizza is a favorite hangout spot for many of those who live near our Richmond homes for sale. Pets are welcome on the restaurant's enclosed patio, a prime dining spot overlooking the James River.

Bottoms Up is best known for what they call their "Richmond-style pizza," a pie with a thick and crispy 12-hour sourdough crust brushed with olive oil before baking. They offer vegan and gluten-free options as well as soups, salads, chicken tenders, chili, and a wide variety of burgers and sandwiches. Why not grab a slice and enjoy the view with your furry friend?

  • James River Cellars Winery - 11008 Washington Highway, Glen Allen, VA 23059
The James River Cellars Winery has been producing delectable Virginia wine since 2001. Each variety is made with fresh Virginia grapes grown right there on the winery's gorgeous sprawling grounds. Guests who visit with pets are invited to take a seat on the lawn in front of the property's estate house and sip their drinks in the sunshine near Glen Allen homes for sale
