Events at the Altria Theater This Summer
The Richmond area has a lot to offer when it comes to entertainment and the arts. One of the best places to see live performances is the Altria Theater. First opened in 1927, this theater has hosted countless comedy shows, concerts, and children's performances over the years. Our real estate agents always recommend that those new to Richmond make plans to visit the theater for an event or show. Here are some upcoming events worth attending this summer.
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire In Concert
Whether you're a Ravenclaw, a Gryffindor, a Slytherin, or a Hufflepuff, you don't want to miss Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire In Concert at the Altria Theater. This live performance features the Richmond Symphony, who will perform the unforgettable score from the incredible film.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire In Concert is scheduled for Saturday, June 10th, with performances at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Tickets start at $55 per person, and doors open 1 hour before the event. For the ultimate experience, consider buying Lexus Lounge Access Passes, which include pre-show appetizers, two beverages per person, and access to private restrooms. - Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations
The Temptations are a soul and R&B vocal group that rose to prominence in the 1960s. Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations tells their story. It details their origins in Detroit, all the way to their eventual induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Ain't Too Proud hits the Altria Theater on July 11th with daily performances July 11th - 15th. The Saturday performance is a 2:00 pm matinee, which is perfect if you spend the morning looking at Richmond homes for sale. Tickets start at $43.50 per person. - 85 South Show Live
Comedy fans, this one is for you. 85 South Show Live is a stage performance featuring some of the best comedians in America. Their quick-witted comedy is sure to delight. Expect a unique blend of improv, roasting, and freestyle comedy.
This show is scheduled for July 1, 2023. Tickets start at $53.50 per person for the 7:00 performance, and doors open at 6:00 pm. - Jo Koy World Tour
Jo Koy is a standup comedian who got his start in LA coffee houses. His comedy focuses on his family and their story. Most find his stories relatable, inspirational, and laughable. He had a Netflix special in 2019, and this performance is a follow-up to it.
Jo Koy is coming to the Altria Theater on September 29th, 2023. The performance will start at 8:00 pm, with doors opening at 7:00 pm. Tickets start at $51.50 per person and, as always, can be purchased through the Altria Theater website.
